Hello everybody, it’s Jim, welcome to my recipe page. Today, I will show you a way to prepare a special dish, crumpets. It is one of my favorites food recipes. This time, I’m gonna make it a bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Crumpets is one of the most popular of recent trending meals on earth. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. They’re fine and they look wonderful. Crumpets is something that I’ve loved my whole life.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can have crumpets using 7 ingredients and 12 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Crumpets:
  1. Take 150 g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
  2. Make ready 200 ml (3/4 cup) + 1 tablespoon) warm water
  3. Get 1/2 teaspoon salt
  4. Take 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  5. Make ready 1 teaspoon baking powder
  6. Take 1 teaspoon yeast
  7. Get 1 tablespoon warm water
Steps to make Crumpets:
  1. Place flour, water and salt in a bowl and whisk for 2 minutes (electric beater 1 minute on speed 5).
  2. Yeast mixture: Dissolve Yeast into one tbsp warm water in a small bowl.
  3. Add Yeast Mixture, sugar and baking powder into the bowl, then whisk for 30 seconds.
  4. Cover with cling wrap or plate, then place in a very warm place for 15 to 30 minutes until the surface gets nice and foamy. It will only increase in volume by ~10 - 15%.
  5. Grease 2 or 3 crumpet rings with butter
  6. Brush non stick pan lightly with melted butter then place rings on the pan, then turn the stove on medium high.
  7. Pour 1/4 cup batter into the crumpet rings (65ml), about 1cm deep (will rise 60%).
  8. Cook for 1 1/2 minutes - bubbles should start appearing on the surface (but not popping yet).
  9. Turn heat down to medium, cook for 1 minute - some bubbles should pop around the edges.
  10. Turn heat down to medium low, cook for a further 2 1/2 to 4 minutes, until the surface is "set" and it's clear there will be no more bubbles popping! (At this stage you can help the final bubbles pop with a skewer!)
  11. Remove rings then flip and cook the other side for 20 to 30 seconds for a blush of colour.
  12. Enjoy!
