The ingredients needed to make Carrot Shira-ae:
  1. Make ready 1-2 carrots (depending on size)
  2. Take 1 tbsp soy sauce
  3. Make ready 0.5 tbsp mirin
  4. Make ready 150 g tofu
  5. Get 1 tsp miso
  6. Make ready 2 tsp sugar
  7. Make ready 1 tbsp roasted ground sesame seeds
  8. Make ready blanched mange tout (optional)
Steps to make Carrot Shira-ae:
  1. Wrap the tofu in kitchen paper, place on a plate with another plate on top. Leave for 20-30 minutes to squeeze out excess water.
  2. Shred or julienne the carrot. Mix with soy sauce and mirin and cook in the microwave for 1 minute.
  3. Blend the tofu, miso, sugar, salt and ground sesame seeds in a bowl. Use food processor or blender if possible. Mix the tofu paste with carrot and thinly sliced mange tout (optional).
